Terms and Conditions
Please ensure you have read the full Terms & Conditions below before you submit your purchase.
With this purchase you are making a contribution to the construction of the Dry Stone Wall Maze in Dalby Forest. You are paying for your initials to be carved in a stone which will be built into the Maze. The stone will remain the property of the Forestry Commission before, during and after the construction as well as for the lifetime of the structure and beyond. You will not be able to take the stone home. Nor will you be able to see the stone in the Maze until the Maze ceases to be a construction site according to CDM regulations.
It will not be possible to make any changes to your initials, once payment has been made.
The initials will be carved by Peter Maris or another stone carving artist as selected by the partnership. The type face used will be at the artist’s discretion.
Due to the nature of the stone used it is impossible to guarantee a lifespan of the stone or the carved initials.
Once the site is open to the public, you will be able to find your initials and visit them in the Maze as often as you wish (usual access charges to Dalby Forest apply).
We keep the following information on you:
- Your first name, second name, email address and the initials you have requested (and address if provided).
This will be held by the partnership (the Friends of Dalby Forest – who process payments, the Forestry Commission – who take responsibility of co-ordinating activities, and Mark Ellis as the owner of the www.drystonewallmaze.com website) only for the duration of the construction of the Maze. Your data will only be used to inform you that your payment has been received and when your initials have been carved. Further updates of progress on construction with photos and news, will be mentioned on the website of the project www.drystonewallmaze.com .
Should the partnership cease to exist and/or is unable to perform all or any of the obligations in these terms and conditions, this will be announced on the www.drystonewallmaze.com website. In such circumstances, no refund will be given, but all efforts will be made to display the stones with carved initials in a creative and interesting manner.
